What is Direct Share?

Direct Share is a monthly donation plan that allows you to make pre-authorized donations to support PWS&D. Contributions are made through automatic monthly withdrawals from your bank account or credit card.

How does the plan work?

To get started, download and complete the authorization form and mail it to PWS&D. Indicate the amount of the monthly deduction and any designation. If donating from your bank account, please also provide a voided cheque. The amount you indicate will be automatically deducted from your bank account or credit card on the 20th of each month.

Can I designate part of my donation to a specific project?

Yes, the plan allows for specific designations. You can indicate how you would like to designate your donation on the authorization form.

Can I change or stop my deduction?

Yes, changes to your amount, designation and banking information can be made at anytime by calling PWS&D at 1-800-619-7301, ext. 291 or by e-mail to pwsd@presbyterian.ca. If you wish to stop your deduction, please call PWS&D to obtain a cancellation form. You must provide 15 days of notice prior to the next scheduled transaction in order for the changes to take effect. Download a cancellation form.

What happens if I change my bank, bank account or credit card number?

Simply send a cheque marked "Void" from the new bank account to PWS&D or call 1-800-619-7301 ext. 291 to notify PWS&D of your new credit card number. You must provide 15 days of notice prior to the next scheduled transaction in order for the changes to take effect.

If I sign up for Direct Share, can I still make offerings for special appeals or on special occasions such as Christmas?

Yes, you can make additional donations by contacting PWS&D directly, donating online or through your church.

Are there any administrative costs to signing up for the Direct Share plan?

No. This is a free service offered through your bank or credit card company. Transactions are rapid, secure and automatic.

Will I receive an income tax receipt?

Yes, income tax receipts are issued on an annual basis, early in the new year.

Can anybody participate in the program?

To participate in this plan you need a credit card, bank or credit union account. You must ensure there are sufficient funds in the account to cover the monthly deduction.
