Experience Mission
Experience mission with Education for Mission
Globalization and information technology has brought the world closer to your door. The ability to communicate and travel is easier than it ever has been before. You want to take seriously Christ’s mandate to take the good news to the world and you are ready to volunteer your time, money and service. You want to do mission, not only in your home community, but around the world.
The Presbyterian Church in Canada’s mission program has been designed to help congregations and individuals connect with Presbyterian mission partners and agencies in Canada and overseas to experience and do mission. By joining The Presbyterian Church in Canada’s mission strategy you will work with long term mission staff and partners to really make a difference in the world. You will gain experience, serve others, enhance your personal growth, learn skills, grow in your faith and share in the mission of the church.
In this lifetime experience the rewards are personal and spiritual rather than monetary. Put your faith into action by joining our mission program.
-
Explore mission issues by actually visiting and experiencing mission first-hand in Canada or overseas. More than an ordinary journey, a mission trip is also a spiritual journey that has the potential to transform not only the people who travel, but also the entire congregation. Special projects are designed for youth in mission.
-
Learn about mission by hosting a mission speaker at your congregation or group. When people hear the stories of mission they are encouraged to get involved. These speakers will connect the work we do together through Presbyterians Sharing and Presbyterian World Service & Development.
-
Connect to mission in a more intense way by supporting mission projects through Gifts of Change. These givings are over and above your contribution to Presbyterians Sharing.
-
The Presbyterian Church in Canada’s Making Connections mission studies will help your congregation engage in mission without leaving home. Meet as a group to discover how we can effectively engage with world issues, justice and mission. Other mission resources include Stories of Mission, Mission Capsules, bulletin inserts, worship resources and more.
