The Amity Summer English Programme (SEP) offers oral English training for Chinese Middle School teachers from small cities and rural areas. This program gives volunteers an opportunity both to teach and to learn in a 4-week intensive English program in a variety of locations in China. Provide Ecumenical Accompaniment in the Palestinian Territories

Synopsis: 

Presbyterian World Service and Development and International Ministries are seeking persons willing to take part in the World Council of Churches Ecumenical Accompaniment Program in Palestine and Israel (EAPPI).

The EAPPI mission is to accompany Palestinians and Israelis in their non-violent actions and concerted advocacy efforts to end the occupation. Participants of EAPPI are monitoring and reporting violations of human rights and international humanitarian law, offering protection through non-violent presence, engaging in public policy advocacy and standing in solidarity with the churches and all those struggling against the occupation.

Since EAPPI was launched in August 2002, accompaniers have participated from more than 30 churches and ecumenical partners in 14 countries: Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, New Zealand, Norway, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, the UK and the USA.

EAPPI accompaniers should be:

  • 25 years of age or older
  • Knowledgeable of and/or interested in the Middle East region and the Israeli/Palestinian conflict
  • Committed to continue advocacy work upon return to home country including participation in public speaking
