Employee Assistance Pilot Program Extended

In September 2010, the Life and Mission Agency created a pilot Employee Assistance Program (EAP) to offer ministers and their families access to confidential counselling, consultation and referral.

Funded by bequests in the church’s Sustaining Pastoral Excellence Fund, this pilot program was expected to last two years. Fortunately however, lower than expected costs mean that the pilot program will be extended for a third year until the end of August 2013.

Members of the health and dental plan not receiving their church pension, and their spouses and dependent children, may access care through the 24-hour 7-day EAP Contact Centre:

The EAP helps ministers to strengthen themselves for Christian service and gives the church another way to express its care for the community of people who lead it.
