Planting seeds of justice
With what can we compare the kingdom of God? It is like a mustard seed.
In the Gospel of Mark, Jesus asks his disciples: “With what can we compare the kingdom of God, or what parable shall we use for it? It is like the mustard seed, which, when sown upon the ground, is the smallest of all the seeds on earth; yet when it is sown it grows up and becomes the greatest of all shrubs, and puts forth large branches, so that the birds of the air can make nests in its shade” (Mark 4:30-32). The smallest seed can take root in a harsh environment and flourish just as Jesus sowed hope among his followers. Jesus invites us to follow him, and seek the healing of the world.
Justice Ministries collaborates with and assists congregations and courts of the church to respond faithfully to the justice imperatives of the gospel by encouraging theological reflection and action on faith and justice issues.
