Biography of Lori Ransom: Healing & Reconcilliation Animator

Lori Ransom was appointed Healing and Reconciliation Program animator, a part of Justice Ministries, effective September 5, 2006.

She works with congregations, local church groups, aboriginal organizations, national staff, the courts of the church and ecumenical partners to further the aims and objectives of The Presbyterian Church in Canada's Healing and Reconciliation initiative.

Lori has spent over 18 years with Indian and Northern Affairs Canada and has experience as a writer/editor and director responsible for communications. She is a trained facilitator, and has developed and led numerous group processes and presentations. Her several positions within the department have given her a breadth and depth of understanding of aboriginal issues and concerns in Canada.

She is an active member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, King Street, Toronto, Ont. where she has convened a number of committees, served as convener of the board of managers, and currently serves as an elder. Her involvement at the presbytery level includes three years as representative elder and as a commissioner to General Assembly.

Lori is a member of the Algonquins of Pikwakanagan First Nation (Golden Lake, Pembroke ON).
