        Theme: Fresh Expressions

        Fresh Expressions is a movement that aims to reach out to the unchurched people in a unique and new way. Fresh Expression method of reaching out is through making disciples and nurturing them in a new way of a church that speaks to the language and culture of our world today while it's rooted in Scripture, orthodoxy and tradition alongside the existing church in a new and different form of a church.

      Saturday morning and afternoon: The Rev. Dr. Stuart Macdonald

        Theme: Being effective churches in the new reality

        Christians in Canada today find themselves living in a reality very different from what many imagine. Stuart Macdonald, co-author (with Brian Clarke) of Leaving Christianity, an exploration of what has changed in Canada's religious environment, will share findings, and then suggest some ways in which congregations can effectively meet the challenges of ministry today.

        • 11:00 - 12 noon: "Where are we? Christians in Canada today?"
        • 1:00 - 3:00 pm: "Now we know where we are, how do we ...."

        (the afternoon session is open to everyone within the synod, and will include a brief re-cap of the morning session)
