A memorial service is planned for Saturday, July 2, 2022 at 10 a.m. at Parkwood Church, also to be livestreamed, followed by a reception in the Fellowship Hall, and thereafter inurnment at Admanston Cemetery, near Renfrew, at 2:30 p.m. Please uphold his widow Claire and family in prayer.   • Sheila Selley...   The clerk has circulated notice of the passing of Sheila Selley, long-time representative elder for St. Andrew's church, Ottawa. The funeral service was held on Saturday, June 18 at 11 a.m. at St. Andrew's. You can view Sheila's obituary here.

  • Doug Simpson...   The funeral for the late Douglas Simpson, who until recently was representative elder for St. Timothy's Church, Ottawa to the Presbytery of Ottawa, was held Monday, May 30, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Timothy's.   • Cheryl Gaver...   A memorial service for the late Cheryl Gaver was conducted by the Presbytery of Seaway-Glengarry at St. Luke's-Knox Church, Finch, Ontario on Monday, June 13, 2022 at 1 p.m. You can view Cheryl's obituary here.

  • (14-mar-22)   With the further easing of COVID restrictions in the Ottawa area, almost all churches have resumed in-person worship. As of March 14, 2022, 95% of churches in the Presbytery are now holding in-person worship. Numbers are as follows: sixteen churches are holding services both online & in-person, four churches are holding services in-person only and one church is holding services online only, Calvin Hungarian. Since this is the case, the "churches online" page has become less relevant and will be taken down shortly.

  • Barrhaven closed:   Presbytery at it's regular meeting on November 16 accepted the (amended) recommendations of it's Mission Committee
    • that Presbytery invite the worshipping community of Barrhaven Mission to move into St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Ottawa, as a small group under the spiritual care of St. Paul's and
    • that Presbytery discontinue the present worshiping community and the outreach work of Barrhaven Presbyterian Mission.

  • Paul Wu was inducted into St. Giles church in Nov. 2020. He's been familiarizing himself with the ministry and history of the church, and in February he reached waaaaay out and called long-time member of St. Giles Pauline Brown, who lives in Jobat, India. 2021 marks 70 years since Pauline's commissioning to the mission field. Paul was giving a message on Peter's mother-in-law, about women serving the Lord, and that brought him to call and chat with Pauline.   • The 146th meeting of the Synod of Quebec & Eastern Ontario took place on Friday October 15 from 9:30 to 12:30, via Zoom. All presbyters on the roll of the five Presbyteries (Quebec, Montreal, Seaway-Glengarry, Ottawa & Lanark-Renfrew) were invited to attend. More info here, including reports.

  • A Statement Regarding Residential Schools...  The PCC laments the discovery of unmarked graves on the grounds of former residential schools in Canada.
