Canada Day
Pray for peace, health and prosperity for the citizens of Canada and all countries around the world.
Friday, July 2
Pray for St. David’s inner city mission in Hamilton, Ontario as it provides hope to those in need.
Saturday, July 3
Pray for the safety and well being of refugees, as they work to meet each day with courage and perseverance.
Sunday, July 4
Pray for people who live in regions of the world that suffer from drought.
Monday, July 5
Pray for leaders and volunteers who offer vacation Bible school and other programs for children during their summer holidays.
Tuesday, July 6
Pray for the three International Ministries participants at the July, 2010 Amity Summer English Programme in China.
Wednesday, July 7
Pray for those who are caught in abusive relationships, that they might find faith, safety and new options.
Thursday, July 8
Pray for engineers who have the responsibility of ensuring that at the structures we use every day are safe.
Friday, July 9
Pray for Alexa Ewin, who serves as the convener of the Doctrine and Ministries Committee of the Presbytery of Peace River.
Saturday, July 10
Pray for children and young adults at camp, and for the councilors and camp staff who ensure their safety and summer fun. Pray for teachers as they prepare for a new school year.
Sunday, July 11
Pray for those who are working in the midst of conflicts and disasters with the support of Presbyterian World Service & Development as they bring emergency supplies and psychosocial assistance to those in need.
Monday, July 12
Pray for Canada Forces personnel who are presently training to go into Afghanistan on a six month deployment.
Tuesday, July 13
Bless those who use food banks and those who donate the food items. May they remember that as much food, if not more, is required during the summer months when donations are lower.
Wednesday, July 14
Pray for the people of Haiti who are rebuilding their homes and livelihoods with the help of Presbyterian World Service & Development, working through the Action by Churches Together Alliance.
Thursday, July 15
Pray for ministers and church workers who are taking much needed vacations. May they return to their work refreshed and re-energized.
Friday, July 16
Pray for the congregations at St. Matthew's, Elmsdale and Hardwood Lands, Nova Scotia, and for The Rev. Gwen Roberts in their ministry together.
Saturday, July 17
Pray that the barriers that keep children and their families from rising out of poverty may be lifted.
Sunday, July 18
Give thanks for the gift of God’s creation. Pray for the agricultural workers and farmers who grow and harvest our food.
Monday, July 19
Pray for those who organize and run Vacation Bible Schools, that they may be an energizing presence in their communities
Tuesday, July 20
Pray for Glenn and Linda Inglis, who are in Canada for a three month furlough. May their stories of ministry in Malawi be inspirational to us all.
Wednesday, July 21
Pray for the congregation of the Ghanaian Presbyterian Church in Montreal, Quebec and for their new minister, The Rev. Sowah Ablorh, as they grow and develop their ministry together.
Thursday, July 22
Pray for mothers who are struggling with post-partum depression while trying to care for new babies.
Friday, July 23
Pray for the staff of the Jumla Clinic in Nepal, who provide treatment and support for tuberculosis, leprosy and AIDS patients and rehabilitate severely malnourished children back to health.
Saturday, July 24
Pray for the families of those who are deployed to Afghanistan.
Sunday, July 25
Give thanks for the generosity of those who give to the Presbyterian Church through the Planned Giving program.
Monday, July 26
Pray for those who feel excluded from society, that they might experience the strength of God’s love and compassion in their lives.
Tuesday, July 27
Pray for Heather Paton’s short-term appointment as a Theological Intern with The Presbyterian Church in Grenada, assisting with building capacity in the Belair congregation’s youth and women ministries.
Wednesday, July 28
Pray for people who have received an upsetting medical diagnosis. May they be granted hope and courage and know God’s healing love.
Thursday, July 29
Pray for young men and women in rural and slum communities in India as they build brighter futures through programs supported by Presbyterian World Service & Development, providing business training skills and access to small bank loans.
Friday, July 30
Pray for those who are hungry and give thanks for the people who work in food banks and food programs.
Saturday, July 31
Pray for healers in all guises: the parents, teachers, grandparents and church leaders who make a difference in the lives of children and adults who are wounded in body or spirit.
