MONDAY, FEBRUARY 1
February is Black History Month. Pray for members of the Canadian Ecumenical Anti-Racism Network as they promote racial justice in churches and society in Canada.

TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 2
As you enjoy the beauty of a Canadian winter, thank God for the opportunity for renewal and growth that each season brings.

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 3
Pray that the Church will open its heart and hearth to those who experience homelessness or inadequate housing.

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 4
Pray for cancer patients and their family members. Pray for God’s healing touch for those affected, that they may sense God’s presence during such difficult times.

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 5
Pray for military families who are struggling to sell their homes in a recession.

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 6
Pray for the International Ministries’ Advisory Committee and Personnel Committee members. Give thanks for the valuable contributions they make to overseas mission.

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 7
PWS&D Sunday
Pray for the work of PWS&D, reaching out to those in need around the world, working for an end to global poverty and for the time when there will be enough for all.

MONDAY, FEBRUARY 8
Pray for clerks of session as they provide leadership on their sessions and in their congregations.

TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 9
Pray for members of the local arrangements committee of the 136th General Assembly as they make preparations to welcome commissioners to the Presbytery of Cape Breton in June.

WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 10
Pray for village health volunteers in rural India as they teach others in their community new skills in hygiene, health and education through an innovative program supported by Presbyterian World Service & Development.

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 11
Pray that overseas students who are studying in Canada far from their families and friends will find a church family to make them feel at home.

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 12
Pray for the doctors, psychiatrists and guards who work in our prison system. May they be safe and know that their work is making a difference.

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 13
Pray for the congregation of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Thompson, Manitoba, and for their new minister, Sean Kim.

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 14
Transfiguration Sunday
Pray that our lives will be transformed by love and faith, and that we will treat those around us with loving kindness.

MONDAY, FEBRUARY 15
Pray for theological students who will be graduating this spring and are now starting the process of seeking a call to a congregation.

TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 16
Pray for the caregivers of people who are elderly or infirm, in their own homes and in institutions. May they feel supported and encouraged in the care they provide for their patients and family members.

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 17
Ash Wednesday
Pray that this season of Lent will give us the faith and strength to turn away from our weaknesses and temptations, and to start afresh with softer hearts.

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 18
Pray for university and college students who are carrying a heavy load of assignments at this time of year. May they have confidence, energy and enthusiasm in their work.

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 19
Pray for those who are economic victims of globalization and a world economic system that values and serves private profit. Pray that the principles of community, sufficiency, equity and sustainability will prevail.

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 20
Give thanks for the many Presbyterians involved in KAIROS: Canadian Ecumenical Justice Initiatives. Pray for KAIROS staff and volunteers as they advocate for peace, justice and human rights in Canada and around the world.

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 21
1st Sunday in Lent Heritage Sunday
Give thanks for the people and the events of the past that have shaped us, and pray that we will focus on upbuilding the Church, not to our own glory, but to the glory of Jesus Christ.

MONDAY, FEBRUARY 22
Pray for the planning team for Stewards by Design, and for the congregational teams that are preparing to attend the event in May.

TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 23
Pray for our Canadian politicians, that they might be granted wisdom, guidance and compassion as they make decisions that affect the wellbeing of others.

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 24
Pray for Wayne Menard and the ecumenical chaplaincy at Carleton University in its ministry to the students in Ottawa, Ontario.

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 25
Pray for families that have recently come to Canada and are learning a new language and a new way of life.

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 26
Pray for congregations that are without a minister, that their faith and witness will not falter.

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 27
Pray for the street children of Shauri Yako, Kenya, that they may receive love and support from Presbyterian World Service & Development program partners to create futures of hope and opportunity.

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 28

Second Sunday in Lent
Pray that the Lenten journey will open our eyes to the groaning and suffering of this world – its people, the earth and all that is therein.
