  • (2016-05-18) As followup to the TRC activities, a "Mass Blanket Exercise" will be held on Parliament Hill May 31 commencing at 5:30 pm. See poster here for more info or contact Dorothy Herbert at gwyngilia@xplornet.ca.

  • (2016-05-17) Cheryl Gaver (Rev. Dr.) of Prescott has been hired as Ministry Animator for the presbyteries of Seaway-Glengarry & Ottawa for one year commencing June 1; Lyn Hughes was certified for ordination; Liz Chan is also eligible to be called as a minister of the PCC, having fulfilled the appropriate requirements. Ministry & Pastoral Care produced a comprehensive report addressing issues raised by the Synod Commission's report on its handling of the steps leading to Peter Rombeek's ordination. Philip MacFie was hired as Synod co-ordinator for CY2016 (see synod page here).

  • (2016-04-19) Job vacancies at Gracefield (Facilities Manager) and in the Presbytery (Youth Animator and Coordinator of Pastoral Care) are in the process of being filled
  • the congregations of St. Andrew's Kars and Osgoode Church, Vernon requested and were granted permission to become a two-point charge. This will take effect September 1st.
  • two candidates for ministry will have finished their studies at Presbyterian College the end of May: Lyn Hughes and Liz Chan
  • St. Paul's church were granted permission to sell the former Christian School to an interested buyer
  • Brian & Janet Ham have resigned as Co-Executive Directors of Gracefield effective May 15
  • The Youth Working Group announce a Spring Youth Retreat for Jr. High (gr 6-8) & Sr. High (gr 9-12) to take place Sat. May 21 - Mon. May 23 at Gracefield, cost $50 (incl. transportation); theme: "Welcome"; theme speaker: Joan Cote; registration deadline is May 8 (late reg. add $15)

  • (2016-04-01) Official nominee for moderator... Stephen Kendall, Principal Clerk of the PCC, has announced that the name of the Rev. Douglas Rollwage, minister at Zion Presbyterian Church, Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, will be placed as the sole nominee to be Moderator of the 2016 General Assembly, scheduled to meet in June at York University, Toronto.

  • (2016-02-02) A Presbytery workshop on human sexuality was held Saturday February 20, 8:30 - 4:00 at St. Paul's church, open to all members and adherents of the PCC. Cost: $20 including lunch.

  • (2016-01-31) This afternoon an induction service was held for Rev. Phil Kim at Knox church, Manotick. Congrats, Phil!

  • (2016-01-19) James M. Thompson, minister on the appendix to the roll of the Presbytery of Ottawa, passed away in Ottawa on December 26, 2015. A memorial service will be held at Knox Church Ottawa on Saturday January 23 at 1:00pm. Read James' obituary here.
  • The final meeting of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission was held in Ottawa on Dec. 15th past. Read the moderator's address and more here.
  • The Youth Working Group announced some upcoming events: Winterlude (Jan. 30, 2pm, Knox Ottawa) · Confirmation Retreat (Feb. 13-15, Gracefield). Click either link for more info (poster incl. contact info).
