Displaced Haitians live in a tented camp where PWS&D is working through the ACT Alliance to help provide shelter, food, clean water and emotional support.
Seeking Safety for Refugees
Around the world, innocent people are seeking refuge from danger and persecution. The Presbyterian Church in Canada supports refugees and uprooted people as a response to Christ's call to love our neighbour. PWS&D works to provide food, shelter, education and emotional support to uprooted people in refugee camps and camps for internally displaced persons. When situations stabilize, PWS&D helps those who can return home to rebuild their lives. For those who cannot return home, PWS&D assists some of them to start new lives in Canada. Each time Christians walk with those who are persecuted, we remember our Saviour’s walk to the cross. In serving the needs of refugees, we are given an opportunity to follow in the footsteps of Jesus.
Presbyterian World Service & Development is the development and relief agency of The Presbyterian Church in Canada.
