New Gifts of Change Project: Help Produce the Hakka Bible in Taiwan
Of the four million Hakka people who live in Taiwan (pop. 23 million), only 2 or 3 in 1000 are Christians. The Presbyterian Church in Canada is partnering with the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan and the Bible Society in Taiwan (BST) to translate and publish the Bible in the Hakka language.
PCC missionary the Rev. Dr. Paul McLean has been working with the Hakka Bible translation team for over 25 years. In 1993 the BST published the Hakka New Testament and Psalms. In 1995 they published the book of Proverbs. Since then, Paul and the Hakka team have been translating the rest of the Old Testament.
In 2012 the BST hopes to publish 6000 copies of the complete Hakka Old and New Testament Bible. Your donation will support the work of the translation team as they complete their task, and help the BST to pay for printing costs.
