Service of transition and dissolution for Gateway Community Church, Sept 12, 2010
TORONTO, ON — The Presbytery of East Toronto wishes to extend an invitation to attend a service of transition and dissolution of the life of Gateway Community Church on Sunday, September 12, 2010 at 7:30 p.m.
Speakers will be Revs. Linda and/or Brooke Ashfield, and special music will be provided by the choir of St. Marks Presbyterian Church.
The service will be followed by a time for fellowship.
Two years ago Gateway Community Church and East Toronto Presbytery formed Flemingdon Gateway Mission. At the June meeting of Presbytery 2010 it was decided to dissolve the congregation of Gateway Church but to continue to have worship within Flemingdon Gateway Mission.
At this service, the congregation will be handing over its records and other items to presbytery and to the mission.
The church is located at 150 Gateway Blvd. east of Don Mills Road, south of Eglinton and the Ontario Science Centre, behind the Flemingdon Park Plaza/McDonalds.
