The Reformed Ecumenical Council (REC) and the World Alliance of Reformed Churches (WARC) will be joining to create a new body, the World Communion of Reformed Churches (WCRC) at a major international gathering of Reformed churches in June 2010. The meeting will be in Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA, and is expected to gather together about 1,000 participants worldwide. The Stewards' Programme will take place from June 12 to 28.

REC and WARC are seeking 60 stewards, 30 from the USA and Canada, and 30 from other countries. Stewards must be:

• Between the ages of 18-30.
• Willing to work long hours.
• Have some level of experience in administrative/logistical work, documentation and conference assistance.
• Willing to work as a team.
• An active member of a REC or WARC member church, and have the endorsement of that denomination's officers.
• Eager to contribute to, learn from, and share in international experiences.
• Able to speak English and preferably one other language.

Stewards may receive partial travel subsidy, but are expected to raise their local costs--for passports, visas, and local travel. Stewards will be volunteers. Their accommodation and meals for the duration of the Uniting General Council will be provided for by the General Council budget.

The Uniting General Council of WARC and REC will be a wonderful opportunity to share in the life and witness of the worldwide family of Reformed churches. It will be a special opportunity to meet many other young people from around the world.

Each applicant must have the endorsement of his or her national church. The endorsement is a sign that each church recognises the applicant's potential contribution to the Stewards' Programme, will bring back skills that will help the youth movement of the church, and the church is proud to send them as a representative.
