Pre-Authorized Remittance (PAR) Program
Is your congregation interested in participating in a Pre-Authorized Remittance (PAR) program?
Automatic bank withdrawals help congregations to maintain a regular, dependable flow of contributions, and provide church members with a convenient way of providing ongoing, faithful support for their church. Many people prefer this method of paying for any number of things - mortgages, insurance policies, club memberships, etc. It allows them to make regular payments over a period of time.
The United Church of Canada has been operating their PAR program for many years. It is an efficient, well-run operation, providing service not only to its own congregations but to other denominations as well. Almost 150 Presbyterian congregations from across Canada currently have their PAR programs administered by the United Church. All reports received have been highly favourable. At this time, it seems to be good stewardship to 'out-source' this work.
