Prescription for Life - Taking Action for Children with HIV
While the vast majority of children living with HIV around the world lack access to adequate testing and treatment, we can do something about it! The Ecumenical Advocacy Alliance, of which PWS&D is a member, has launched a year-long action plan to engage governments, pharmaceutical companies and media to improve access to medicines for children living with HIV and AIDS.
Their action guide, Prescription for Life, will help teachers, schools, parents, families, faith leaders and their communities empower young people to learn about children living with HIV in the world, and to write letters to governments and pharmaceutical companies asking them to improve the treatment and services available to these children. It also includes ideas of how young people can raise awareness of these issues in the local media.
The Ecumenical Advocacy Alliance is planning to display copies of the letters at the United Nations on November 20, 2009, the 20th anniversary of Universal Children's Day. Download Prescription for Life to discover how you can take action with children around the world for healthier futures.
