Review
Naomi Klein’s book is a collection of her articles and speeches that document her experiences in the fight against globalization in its current form. She refuses to call this movement “anti-globalization” because she realizes the merits of globalization. The problem, she believes, is that globalization is driven by corporations, and wealth and power are concentrated in the hands of a few. She relays her personal stories from the famous protests of the Free Trade negotiations. She examines the effects of Free Trade on democracy. She looks at how the events of September 11 affected globalization. Her journalistic skill is apparent in her researched evidence and well-articulated writing style.
