Book Description
The authors Bill Easum and Canadian Tom Bandy use growing spiritual redwoods as a metaphor for growing a thriving church in the 21st century. Redwoods are organic, dynamic, relational, natural and big as they rise amid a forest of change. The forest is a metaphor for the worldview held by people in the 20th century. In order, according to the authors, to grow strong and healthy churches, it is not sufficient to look at the forest.
The church needs an understanding of the changing nature of forestry (the new world). The essence of ministry is to develop leadership that creates an environment that permits healthy growth.
This book concentrates on the nature, leadership and worship styles of 21st century churches.
