Book Description

James Kemp is a retired United Methodist minister whose favorite theologian since he was in the seminary was Theodor S. Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss. Each chapter takes a biblical passage and by finding parallels in a Dr. Seuss book, provides modern day relevance and reflection. Kemp often goes beyond the obvious lessons in the children’s story such as the treatment of “How the Grinch Stole Christmas!” is not just a lesson in materialism. He also utilizes the character of the Grinch to analyze the character and motivation of Zacchaeus in Luke 19:1-6.  The author’s passion for the fun in cats in hats, Zaxes, Sneetches, Horton and Who’s provides a great resource in reading or presenting the Bible in an accessible and inspirational manner.
